New writer, same great pulp

I hardly noticed the changeover from William King to Lee Lightner on this series. The book was very engaging and while it setup at least a couple more books in the series it did it in such a way as to not seem too cliffhanger-ish, which was nice. I especially enjoyed that they stuck to the formula and kept the Prologue and Epilogue chapters set in what is "present day", while the rest of the novel is a look back at Ragnar's career as a Space Wolf leading up to his promotion to Wolf Lord. All in all, a good read.

Sons of fenris a good read

I have been an avid spacewolf fan since the beginning. This is a pretty good book with just a few inconsistencies like the dreadnought which changes weapons from one scene to the next. Its not a bad chapter in Ragnars life so I would recommend it if only because its about Ragnar. Chris Hawkes

The Ragnar Saga Continues...

Lee Lightner picks up the tale of Ragnar left behind by William King, to my opinion, very well. 'Sons of Fenris' story format is very much like that of William King's (if you are familiar with his prior work). Ragnar, with his Wolfblade companions, are sent on a mission to a newly acquired planet by House Belisarius. What they encounter there are not only a hostile environment (ie the local native flora & fauna) and a suspected Chaos incursion, but also a detachment of old bitterly hated fellow Space Marine Chapter in the Dark Angels. Let me just say that there is a lot of action and intrigue with this novel as two Venerable and Highly decorated Chapters must put aside their mutual disdain of the other for something they hate even more - CHAOS. There is also an opportunity for Ragnar to salvage is honour and reclaim what was lost. Can Ragnar and his bantering Wolfblades pull it off? Read the book and see....

Bolter, chainsword, action! A fun and exciting novel.

Although I am a long-time avid Warhammer 40,000 (40K) modeler and collector, I don't usually read a lot of the fiction set in Games Workshop's 40K universe. However, I picked up a copy of 'Sons of Fenris' as soon as it became available and once I started reading it I couldn't stop! All the fun and excitement of 40K is embodied in the characters and action right from the start. This book is also well-written enough that potential readers who are unfamiliar with Warhammer before picking it up will find it accessible, as the prologue provides an ample introduction to the dark and dangerous war-torn 40K universe. The story revolves around some of the best developed and most exciting warriors from the world of 40K: Space Wolves, Dark Angels and Chaos Space Marines. Whether or not you're a fan of 40K or simply a fan of science fantasy action novels looking for something exciting and new to read, 'Sons of Fenris' does not disappoint. Epic spaceship battles, mighty heroes, monstrous and mutated enemies all await you in the pages of this book. Will Ragnar Blackmane and his daring Space Wolves defeat the foul magic and demonic machinations of the Chaos Space Marines or will their plans to defeat the warriors of Chaos be dashed by their rival Space Marines, the Dark Angels? Buy 'Sons of Fenris' now to find out!
