I read this book to a 2nd grade class as an introduction to poetry. It was simple enough that they were able to grasp the concept of poetry, but it was predictable enough to keep their attention. They loved trying to guess what the rhyming word on the next page would be. I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling to introduce poetry to a young one.
