Gideon

Gideon's character was so damaged but he was vital to the story. I was a huge fan of Dickey's when I was younger. RIP, sir. Overall, I give it a 3.5 ⭐ rounded up to 4. Maybe I'm older now? EJD was one of my go-to authors. While I liked Gideon, I was a bit underwhelmed with the story. I'll go back and read some of the others to see if I get the same feeling.

A page Turner...

EJD has created a character that is ruthless, fearless, yet compassionate and patient. Gideon is intriguing and insights into his past life help to shape his character and the plot. I'll admit it I rooted for Giedeon from the beginning, even though his line of work was, should I say, not "professional" by any means! I ordered the the sequel at the same time as this book so did not have to wait months for the climatic ending. The manner in which EJD presents the story line left me wanting more, even tempting me to peek on the next page to see what would happen next. The usage of short statements and discriptive narration provides a visual picture into every aspect of the story. As a native Londoner I could see all the areas EJD so artfully described. Totally different from the norm of his writings...so make no comparisons...If you are looking for love, "normal" relationships, happy endings, this is not the forum. It is a must read web of twists and turns that leaves you breathless no matter what is unfolding between the characters. I must say this was one of the best non-fiction books I have read in quite some time.

Excellent Book. Great Great Great. One of my favorite Dickey books. The love scenes....HOT...Almost was ashamed to read it at work- HOT. Gideon, the main character, just kept surprising you throughout the book. He is as deep as the ocean. The man has got problems, but with good reason. So many twist and turns you'll love it. Trust me. READ IT!!! Can't wait for Waking with Enemies.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMN GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!

The moment I got this book I began reading it, I was even reading it walking down the street. Eric Jerome Dickey is one of my favorite writers and reading Sleeping with Strangers proves that he is by far one of the best writers out there. This book reads like your watching a movie,Gideon is a mysterious and intriguing charater,I loved all the characters that rounded out this book. When I was finished reading it I craved more,I cannot wait until the next installment. August isn't coming soon enough.

Different style, but EJD still delivers

I was thrown off by the TYPE of book that EJD was now doing with this series, but it was a welcome change of pace and in my opinion he still delivers. This was a crossover book that was suspenseful and action packed. I felt as if I was reading a John Patterson book with EJD's own spin on things. The characters kept my attention throughout and because there was some crossover from one of his previous stories, it gave a deeper insight into that character. I read the book in three days while vacationing abroad. I look forward to the sequel. Chicago Author, Darrin Lowery
