Book Overview

The hottest and most controversial book of the year Find out who really controls the media in America. " Ann Coulter] is never in doubt. And that, along with her bright writing, sense of irony and outrage, and her relish at finally hitting back at political opponents (especially in the media) is what makes Slander such refreshing and provocative reading." -- Los Angeles Times " Ann Coulter] is a fluent polemicist with a gift for Menckenesque invective . . . and she can harness such language to subtle, syllogistic argument." -- Washington Post Book World "The most popular nonfiction book in America."-- New York Times "The real value of Slander . . . is not in the jokes or devastating expos s of liberal politicians and their allies, but the serious and scholarly study of just how entrenched the media prejudice is against anyone whose politics are even faintly conservative." -- New York Sun "Written with a great deal of passion . . . the real source of its strength--and its usefulness--was its painstaking marshalling of evidence . . . More important than High Crimes and Misdemeanors ] because it addresses a much broader issue, and one of lasting significance."-- National Review

As the title says. This book is Slander.

I am buying this book because I read about it in a book by Al Franken. This Ann Coulter person, is a nutjob. I expect this to be a hilarious and very sad book. I am trying to understand these loony people. Her “footnotes”, don’t exist. And the VAST majority of the end notes are just straight up false.

So Far a bullseye

I'm only two-thirds through the book. She is definitely hard on the libs (particularily the newsies), no doubt about it. But she backs up every opinion with example after example, footnoted throughout. I'm guessing that the first 6 reviewers have not read the book (dem hacks, perhaps) judging by the lack of specitivity in their criticisms. Claims that it is incoherent or illogical are absurd, as anyone whose read even the 1st 3 pages could attest. Fun stuff!

The truth hurts (liberals), but it's still the truth

Ann Coulter's book is full of facts that definitively show the mean spirited and dishonest side of liberalism. Her prose is as tight as drum. Her logic and facts slice through opposing arguments like a Sith Lord's double light saber bifurcating the Philsbury Doughboy. This books hosts the standard bogus liberal stereotypes of conservatives on the petard of their own irrational words and hypocritical deeds. And it's a fun, fun read. Highly recommended

Finally, someone writes the truth.

For many years, a plurality of Americans have known the truth about the mainstream media (i.e., that it is dominated by liberal-thinking people). Finally, someone has the grit to say so. I recommend Coulter's new book.

Slander describes it just right

Ann's books is an excellent portrayal of the liberal bias in the American media that is constantly promoting immoral, irresponsible, irrelevant people and ideas that are harmful to the future survival of this nation. Coulter's book can be described as nothing more than brillant and should be in the hands of every journalism student in America, so that they will not fall into the trap of subjective liberal ideology.

Wonderful, biting sarcasm! A fun read.

Anne Coulter documents the bias in the news that all of us have heard over the years and inserts her sharp commentary about media bias. Many people may not agree with what she says, but I don't think that's the point. She provides extensive, well documented quotes from those in the main stream media and lets readers know exactly what she thinks about it. This is what makes the book so enjoyable. I think her perspective is interesting and I love the sarcastic wit and humor of the book.
