Not his best work

This isn’t so much a book as one editor’s exercise in abridging a large stack of previously published articles. It reads just as poorly, where in some chapters you would’ve really liked to dive more into a subject, and you get the sense that Skip had waxed poetic about something, but it’s been left out in favor of moving onto the next disjointed subject. As a professional sailor myself, I admire what Skip has done for the world of sailing, and especially for his advocacy for our polar regions. For anybody who is just getting into his writing, I would steer them towards his articles at Yachting World, which can be found on his website at Pelagic Expeditions.
