Another Winner for Ava Gray!

This book has something for everyone, intrigue, sizzling romance, and nail-biting suspense.A great follow up to Skin Game,It's hard to resist such a heady mixture of romantic fiction! Very entertaining, and very well written. Well worth the wait. And did I mention I LOVED IT?

super taut romantic suspense thriller

In Virginia, forensic accountant Mia Sauter is undercover masquerading as an information technology specialist. However, she is taken aback when she meets the human resources director Thomas Strong. She knew him in Vegas last years as a security specialist named Addison Foster, but he rid that identify like a snake ridding its skin although he still regrets exposing her to his prey Seranno. Strong is stunned that Mia ID's him because no one has ever done that before; they only see the person he pretends to be. For years he has toiled to enact revenge against those who destroyed his life, but for the first time since his world imploded someone knows him. He wants Mia just like he did in Vegas, but he recalls the last person he overtly cared for: his Lexie and what happened to her. He fears placing the woman he loves in danger if he informs her he is Soren; while a lie will cost him his heart as she makes his Skin Heat but he must keep her safe. This is a super taut romantic suspense thriller starring an obstinate heroine and an avenging lead male who met in the previous tale Skin Game. His changing skill is beyond just acting; as it is a superpower or curse depending on one's outlook; thus her seeing him stuns him. The story line is fast-paced from the moment that Mia sees Strong's reflection in a glass door and never slows down as she refuses to accept any of his ruses except the kisses that feel from his heart. However, their reunion is not joyful; because besides the betrayal, a psychopath who is over the top of the Washington Monument notices them, recognizes him for what he did to the man, and knows how to manipulate his prey. Skin Tight

We were first introduced to Addison Foster as a secondary character in Ava Gray's first book in the Skin series, Skin Game. We meet him once again but this time as the hero in Skin Tight. He goes by the name Thomas Strong these days--and there may be still lingering doubts as to his true nature and he likes it that way. He is working as a Human Resources Director at Micor Technologies, a laboratory doing mundane research on the effects of caffeine and sugar. But Thomas Strong believes there is more going on there behind locked doors than meets the eye and this laboratory could hold the key to him finally getting vengeance on the those responsible for destroying his life and all he loves. Mia Saunter, also a secondary from Skin Game, is a forensic accountant who has been hired to go undercover posing as an IT specialist at Micor Technologies. She's been asked to do some investigating to figure out who has been embezzling funds. When she runs into the man she knows as Addison Foster, the man that abandoned her in Las Vegas and nearly got her killed, she's pissed and wants an explanation. She also can't forget the brief bit of passion that passed between them back then, much to her irritation. Strong is shocked when Mia recognizes him. That simply never happens, and it shouldn't be possible (for reasons you'll learn about when you read the book). This leaves Strong thinking about Mia more than he is comfortable with. He too remembers what passed between them in Vegas but he knows he should put as much distance between them as possible--for Mia's safety as well as for both of their own good. He doesn't need the distraction when he is so close to achieving his goals but he wonders what is it about Mia that's different. Why can she recognize him? After reading Skin Game I was not fully convinced that Addison Foster would ever win my heart. In Skin Game he was straight up creepy with a huge helping of scary on the side! I thought I'd never get over the prostitute scene. However, in Skin Tight, we see a character that is just slightly softer, but still every bit a criminal mind. He'll still relieve you of a finger or two if you don't cooperate, but now we get a look into his world and what drives him to do what he does. We learn about his past life, his relationships, and slowly but surely he becomes a hero to be sympathized with and adored. He effectively won my heart. Mia as a heroine was middle of the road for me. I really expected someone a little darker and edgier. I suppose if I had not read Skin Game first I would not have come into this book with expectations for Mia but I did and was just a tiny bit disappointed. I had the impression that she was tougher and more self assured and felt like she lost that edge a bit in Skin Tight. I did like that she was not the picture of perfection though. Mia has had a difficult past and is not above a bit of mild white collar criminal behavior herself. Ava Gray knows how to write dirty

Skin Tight by Ava Gray

Addison Foster, who we meet in Ava Gray's first book, Skin Game is a man of many identities. He uses a new name every time he needs new information. He is currently employed as the Human Resource manager at Micor a research facility, as Thomas Strong. Micor may look like a normal research place where the effects of caffeine and sugar are tested on monkeys. But there are many deep, dark secrets in the works, and Strong desperately wants to uncover them. Rowan is the scientist that holds all the key information Strong is searching for. Rowan is continuing in something his predecessors started - experimenting on humans. Trying to make the perfect human - a stronger, smarter race. Strong was vaccinated by this very organization when he was young, and wants revenge. He blames them for his daughter's current vegetative state, and for the loss of his entire family. His plan is to infiltrate the company, find the secret labs and do what he does best - dispose of those in his own way. Mia Sauter is a forensic accountant hired by Micor to track someone who is embezzling funds. She fronts as an IT employee, so no one in the company knows what she is up to. But there is one man in the company that already knows her. In Skin Game, Strong helped rescue Mia's best friend Kyra - but he did it by turning Mia over to the bad guys where she ends up tied up. Although in the long run, everyone escaped, she has never forgiven Strong for what he did. When she sees him at Micor - she is shocked, furious, and can't forget the passionate kiss they shared all that time ago. Strong, is also shocked but for different reasons. His entire life has been affected by the vaccination administered so long ago - and now he must confront what truly haunts him. We first meet Addison Foster/Thomas Strong in Skin Game and I have to admit, I was very surprised when I learned he was set up to be the hero in Skin Tight. In book one he is a violent and all around a bit creepy and I was so curious to see how Ava Gray would turn him into a hero that I wanted to root for and lust after. Strong is always so in control of his life, but in this book, we see deep inside him. We see his defenses down and that allows his more human side to shine. I am a bit conflicted with the romance. I think I was expecting something more explosive like in Skin Game. Now, I realize these are two different characters and they are going to have different chemistry. One thing I really liked was that Ava Gray gives Strong a little problem in the bedroom. He still sexes Mia up, but he is not perfect at it. On the exterior he is so in control of every detail of his life that I LOVE he has issues when it comes to having sex. I think that is a very unique, and great twist Ava Gray creates. I do wish I felt a bit more connection between them. Towards the end when there comes a point where Strong thinks he lost Mia, he acts too disconnected in my opinion. Overall though, Strong is such a different type of hero, I think

SKIN TIGHT

There is a book series that I am absolutely MAD for! I'm serious. I am crazy mad in love with this series. Ava Gray aka Ann Aguirre is the author of the SKIN SERIES. Poor Ava/Ann. I stalk her on Twitter begging for more of this series. Waiting is SO hard! Skin Game (Berkley Sensation) is the first and Skin Tight (Berkley Sensation) is the second book in the SKIN SERIES. Write that down. From the SKIN TIGHT back cover: Uncovering the truth is her specialty As a forensic accountant, Mia Sauter could usually tell when people had something to hide. She made her living exposing secrets while concealing her own. Then, in Vegas, she met a clever, ruthless man who called himself Addison Foster. One year later, she's still haunted by his betrayal. He's a natural born liar The truth of him had long ago been buried. Foster was only one name of many; he'd been so many men, he'd lost count. Reinvented as Thomas Strong and hell-bent on revenge, his mission is about to be compromised by the one woman capable of exposing him. Reunited, they confront the explosive chemistry still crackling between them. But their chance meeting will have consequences, for a ruthless madman has his own deadly agenda. The question is-if they survive the fallout, will he choose love over vengeance? I fell in love with Thomas Strong when I knew him as Addison Foster. In fact, I fell in love with him at first read. Ok. Fine. I fell in LUST with him at first read. When I read SKIN TIGHT, that lust turned to love. I adore Thomas Strong. Like. ADORE him. I want his babies. Mia is pretty darn awesome. I don't hate her. And I totally could. TOTALLY. I mean, she gets to be the HEROINE. (I'm never the heroine. Always the secondary character, never the heroine.) The suspense is heart pounding. There are several points in the story where I cried. (I don't cry much over fiction. Humane Society tv ads? Yes. Fiction? Not as much.) Also, Ava Gray/Ann Aguirre writes the creepiest antagonists. In SKIN TIGHT, the antagonist made my skin crawl. Awesome, right? I found SKIN TIGHT to be very satisfying on so many levels. I absolutely loved every bit of it! Ava Gray is a phenomenal author.
