Amazing

Dawn is the typical thirteen year old girl. She loves going to the mall, cheerleading practices, cute boys, and... going to the hospital? Dawn's world is turned upside down, after one visit to the doctors. Placed into a hospital, Dawn meets Sandy. The two girls become the best of friends, and help eachother through hairloss, chemo, and their life. Once in remission, Dawn thinks she'll never fit in, and feels so out of place. And just like all of Lurlene McDaniels books, there is a health scare, romance, and just a chapter where you cry like a baby. But this book sends off a good vibe, and I suggest if you see a copy, READ IT!

One of the most important books I ever read

I first read this book when I was in the 5th grade. At the time, I did not know anyone who had cancer, and just thought it was a good book to read. Little did I know that years later, my own cousin would be diagnosed with cancer at the age of 15. At that time, this became one of the most important books I ever read because I feel it gave me a better understanding of what it must have been like for her to have to face cancer at such a young age. I would reccomend this book for any young person who has a sibling, cousin or othher close family memeber who has been diagnosed with cancer, because it will teach them to have empathy about the situation.

You'll Love This book

What i liked about this book is that the illness is cancer. I liked that they picked cancer because you loose your hair and it shows that not everyone can have as much as you do. Also you shouldn't make fun of or point at people that have cancer. It also tells what happens when you get cancer, so if you have a family member or you are getting cancer then you know what will happen to you or them. It also shows what you will go threw and it is just a really sad book and you'll want to read every book that Lurlene McDaniel.

This Book was the BEST book ever!!!!

In this book 13-year-old Dawn Rochelle is diagnosed with leukemia. For three months she has to deal with the pain or chemotherapy and it's side affects. She is treated like she isn't even there by her friends. But through these pains she also meets Sandy, her roommate, who is also a 13-year-old diagnosed with leukemia. Together the girls become best friends, and make memories, good and bad. Finally, both Dawn and Sandy are in remission. They go to a cancer camp and both of them have a wonderful time; meet the guys of their dreams but when Dawn returns home, she gets terrible news that Sandy has had a relapse. Her to a hospital in Mexico, where the hospitals do not use the chemotherapy treatment. Which resulted in a tragic death for Sandy. Everyone was very sad even Dawn, she didnt know how to take it she had just lost one of her best friends. What if that was your best friend? What would you do? I recommend this book to people above the age of 10, and not just girls, guys too.
