I read this book and had to write my own review expressing my total disagreement with an earlier "extremely disappointed" reviewer. Posture is important but not necessarily the most fascinating subject for many people. Therefore, I appreciated the fact this book was easy to read, well organized in simple steps, and not overly verbose or lengthy. Talk or write all you want about posture, but you have to see it to understand it; how can there be too many illustrations when a picture is worth a thousand words? And how can the book be "completely lacking in information" when it "successfully defines what is good and bad posture?" I found this book to be informative and entertaining, covering the subjects of basic spinal shape, wear and tear on the body, the process of becoming misshapen, all about the proper sitting position, stretching to reverse bad posture, simple movements to relieve stress and strain (including a 60-second workout), all kinds of practical posture tips, and a monitor placard to stick right in front of your eyes. I don't think bad posture is due to a lack of exercises, it is due to a lack of posture awareness - and the book covers that topic very well. In fact, I would suggest reading any book that can help boost your posture awareness, including those (more expensive ones) mentioned below. Since when does educating yourself about posture have to be a competition, which leads me to question the motives of the reviewer? Just who is being misled here?

I have been working in the corporate world for 15 years and spend a majority of time at my desk and in meetings around tables -- conference or restaurant. I am fairly active but always had lower back and shoulder discomfort. After reading this book, I have taken all of the information Dr. Carb has so masterfully simplified and applied it to my daily routine. INCREDIBLE! This book, to me, is the end-all in simplicity -- it's full of useful information, will ease discomfort and also prevent injuries from happening. EVERYONE needs this book!
