SITKA: THE LONG WAY HOME
Born into a litter of working-line German Shepherds, Sitka was never meant for an ordinary life.
From the moment he is selected for military training, his world becomes one of discipline, loyalty, danger, and duty. Alongside the handler who earns his trust, Sitka learns to search where others cannot, move toward danger when instinct says to run, and protect the soldiers who come to depend on him.
Through grueling training, distant deployments, dangerous missions, devastating loss, and the unbreakable bond between dog and handler, Sitka becomes more than a military working dog. He becomes a partner, a protector, and a soldier in his own right.
But every career eventually ends.
When age and injury finally force Sitka into retirement, he faces a challenge unlike any mission before it: learning how to live without a job, without a uniform, and without the man who once meant everything to him.
For the first time in his life, Sitka must discover that there is more to living than serving.
Sitka: The Long Way Home is a moving story of courage, sacrifice, loyalty, and second chances-following one extraordinary German Shepherd from his first breath to the battlefield, and ultimately to the one place he spent his entire life trying to find.
Home.
