Silent to Spoken: A Woman's Journey Through the Pause
I am the woman who almost did not speak.
Have you spent your life pretending to be someone you're not just to keep the peace? Smiling when you actually need help? Staying silent when you want to speak? You're not alone.
Women in midlife have often spent years holding their tongues, playing peacemaker, putting everyone else first, and trying never to cause trouble. Jennifer Board was one of those women. Then menopause arrived, and the performance stopped working. The smile would not come. The silence became too heavy. And with the tools she gained as a certified wellness practitioner, Jennifer began to understand what was happening beneath the surface and what it would take to find her way back to herself.
Silent to Spoken: A Woman's Journey Through the Pause is the story of what happens when a woman stops performing and starts telling the truth. Jennifer will help you recognize the people-pleasing, performing, and self-abandonment that have kept you quiet for years; rebuild yourself using the P.A.U.S.E. Framework(TM); and become the woman you were always meant to be. Each chapter includes practical tools, reflection questions, a boundary statement, and a prayer to help you navigate the uncertain space between who you are and who you are becoming. A glossary at the end explains the clinical terms behind the stories. Jennifer writes the way she talks, bringing you along on an intimate journey of self-reflection that asks you to pause, finally be honest, and emerge as someone you recognize.
Don't quit in the quiet. Your voice is still in there. This is how you get it back.
