I found this title through a college course in which I read one chapter/essay and other students presented essays, as well. The nature of the writing was intriguing and the author's viewpoints were inspired and innovative, challenging some of the notions I had about medieval literature and culture. This book gets one of my highest recommendations for anyone seeking an overview of the Middle Ages from a cultural, literal, or artistic viewpoint. While I have not had time to read every essay yet, each one offers tantalizing new concepts to keep me reading more.
