Sexylips66

Callie Winston is a magazine columnist in her late thirties and she feels like she is competing with the younger, hipper staff members. Callie has a great idea for an article on online dating. She will create a profile and delve into the reasons that people choose to look for love online. Callie answers the questions honestly on the site questionnaire even submitting a picture of herself, and before she knows it there are over eight hundred emails in her inbox. She is surprised at the number of responses especially since so many talk about her sexy lips and good looks. From the start one man's profile immediately appeals to her. Brian Benson joined the online dating site one night while drinking with his friends. Brian is thirty-six and facing a decision that will change his life. He is trying to decide if he should re-enlist in the service where he is a sniper. Brian does not usually reply to emails after he had a particularly bad experience with a stripper from the site, but something about Callie's profile draws him in. He sends Callie an email and things take off from there. Callie and Brian instantly hit it off! They start by exchanging emails, then instant messaging each other, to phone calls, and finally a face-to-face meeting. Callie is in a vulnerable place after her nasty divorce and she does not feel she is very interesting, attractive, or able to express herself except on paper. Brian leads a hard life which can sometimes be very dangerous. He really wants a woman who can see beyond his profession to the man he is. They share a great weekend, but when faced with the potential heartbreak and disappointment, Callie distances herself from Brian. Can Brian find a way to break through Callie's defenses to get to the love he knows they can share? Sexylips66 was a wonderful, touching, and moving story about overcoming the pain of one's past to enjoy the opportunities of the future. Callie is a beautiful woman who has been so beaten down by her ex-husband that she cannot see her true self. Brian is a strong, sexy, and amazingly sensitive man who is willing to help Callie find the love they can share by offering her patience and time. I really enjoyed Callie and Brian's story and the secondary characters were equally fun. Dakota Cassidy knows how to write sexy, emotional, and funny stories with amazing characters. Dakota Cassidy is going on my must read list!! Gracie Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Deep emotion and good humor

[Note: This review was written about the digital edition of this title.] Callie Winston, humor columnist for a hip California magazine, needs to find some topic that will draw in younger readers, because the twenty-something writers on the staff are yapping at her heels for her job. What could be more au courant than a tell-all about computer dating? So Callie joins a new online dating service and discovers that there are a lot of guys who want to date a 38-year-old divorced woman. In her case, more than 800 of them! How is she going to wade through all of these emails to choose the few she can stand to go out with? Brian Benson, career military man, is home recuperating from a wound received in battle. It's almost time for him to re-enlist, and he's wondering if he should. Then he sees Callie's picture on the dating service website, and deep inside, he feels drawn to her - not for her sexy lips, but for her lovely, caring eyes. This is a woman he could get serious about, but will she feel the same way about him? This is a simple love story between two people who accidentally meet online, and who get to know each other gradually before they ever meet in person. Ms. Cassidy brings the characters of Callie and Brian to fascinating life, and makes the reader feel their sorrows and their joys through her skillful writing style. I almost swooned myself! I enjoyed the thread of humor that runs through the story, playing a counterpoint to the highly emotional feelings of the lead characters. There are also some explicit, sexy scenes in the book, but they occur within the context of a loving relationship. I really loved this novel. It is different in style and setting from much of the author's past work, and is, in my opinion, one of her best. Read it!
