SEVEN WAYS TO SEDUCE A MARTIAN is an incredibly charming and funny story.

As the token male in an all women office, Brent Davison is positive there's no way these women can be sane. As far as he's concerned, they're all crazy, with the lone exception of his cube mate, Jodi, who seems to be the only one who isn't trying to seduce him in one way or another. Brent had his experience with love once and isn't about to subject himself to that heartache again anytime soon. Jodi Baker may be the only woman in the office not trying to seduce Brent but that doesn't mean she isn't interested in him. After being left at the altar, Jodi has no intention of getting involved with any man and definitely isn't about to get involved in the office "seduce the Martian" game. Oddly enough, Jodi's "normalcy" is the main thing that calls Brent's attention to her. Having a man in the office is obviously a huge deal for the women of Holidays International Travel Online Us - otherwise known as HIT ON US. They descended on him with their various offerings and invitations until Brent becomes fully aware that these are desperate women and has to email his brother to request reinforcement. Of course, that's before the women get together at the Zodiac Café where each one bets that she can get the resident Martian to go out on a date with her. The only woman who doesn't get in on the bet is Jodi. Instead, she sits back and watches the other six women strut their stuff in hopes of snagging Brent's interest. Once Mel manages to get him to escort her to her cousin's wedding, which should have been the end of the craziness, but some women just can't handle not winning a bet so Gabriela bets that she can get Brent into her bed before he could remember any of their last names. This bet, Jodi does get in on, but her counter bet is that she can get Brent to know every one of the women's last names by the end of the week - with the exception of Gabriela's. So far she's been successful at hiding her attraction for Brent from most of their co-workers but what will happen when the boss, Mr. Johansson, puts them on a new project together? They'll get to share an office and spend lots of time up close and personal. Will either of them be able to resist temptation? SEVEN WAYS TO SEDUCE A MARTIAN is an incredibly charming and funny story. You can just picture this poor man being bombarded with tons of unwanted female attention. I got the biggest kick out of his emails to his brother, as well as Jodi's emails to her girlfriend. They were so animated, and it was great fun to read what they'd say through email. While the main storyline is Jodi and Brent's romance, I loved that Cynthianna Appel didn't leave out details about the other coworkers' various relationships as they developed. Each of these women is so different that it's hard to imagine them as friends but they balance each other out beautifully. Most everyone knows by now that men come from Mars and women come from Venus. But does everyone know how to capture a Martian's attention--or his heart? Jodi Baker and six Venusian co-workers toil at Hollidays International Travel Online US (HIT-ON-US) for low pay and little appreciation. Then, excitement strikes. There's a new employee. A Martian employee, Brent Davison. The women are all over themselves trying to capture poor Brent's attention. One bakes muffins, one invites him to play basketball, one flirts outrageously-they all have their ploys. All except Jodi. She's loved and lost before and has no interest in subjecting herself to another man's possible perfidy. None of the women know that all of their efforts are for naught. Brent likes the only woman who has basically left him alone: Jodi. During a regular girls' evening out someone suggests a contest to see who can get Brent to ask for a date. Jodi opts out. When Brent does ask one of his coworkers on an innocent date, the girls concoct a new contest. It's to see who can seduce a Martian of her choice into a relationship. Jodi and Brent, while keeping their relationship secret, are already on the fast-track. Just as Jodi suffered heartache in the past-she was left at the altar-so has Brent. Years before, his fianc? snuck behind his back and flew to the west coast for a job interview, then died in a plane crash. Despite his hold on the past, Brent is drawn to Jodi, and in time comes to view his fianc?'s actions through a more realistic lens. The joy in this book is in watching the women interact. By the end, they all find their places, although not all seductions end as we might expect. Cynthianna masterfully handles eight main characters, keeping them separate and unique entities so the reader has the chance to feel comfortable with them all. Another thing I really enjoyed are the emails from Jodi to her best friend and Brent to one of his frat brothers, a great vehicle to fill in events she didn't want to show us in real time and for back story. I would definitely recommend this book, and in fact, already have!

"Seven Ways To Seduce a Martian" is written in a light and easy style, and is full of enough steam to fill a sauna. I highly recommend it.
