Freedom to really live

Pick any exercise in this book and you will experience yourself in a new way. This book really gives you the tools to free yourself from the things you may not know bind you. I was seeking strength to get a divorce, instead I began to see everything through new eyes and grew deeply in love with my husband. I strongly recommend this book!

When I got this book, I was stuck in a job that I had outgrown but was afraid to quit. After completing the exercise called " You can either act or think about acting," I was able to see what I was afraid of and move forward with my career. Now I watch my life and work situation delightfully unfold without fear or uncertainty. I would highly recommend this book as a tool you'll use again and again!

Help for Clients and Counselors

As a psychiatrist with a busy private practice I have a simple practical tool for giving homework assignments to help focus therapy. Both in individual and group sessions I find these exercises combine the best of cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, imagery, and grounded spiritual principles in clear, non complicated language easy for clients to grasp and benefit from. The different headings provide for easy access for me to sort through what could be helpful. Clients like the focus and support the exercises and workbook provides. Again and again I here them comment how helpful these exercises are - not only for more immediate problems, but also for the slow shifting of personality structure. They enjoy how they are empowered to solve their own problems and manage their own lives. I am not surpirsed, since I have gone through and worked all the exercises in the book myself!

This book is the answer to my prayers, it shows me how to move from confusion and suffering to clarity and freedom. The greatest part is I have a companion on this exloration, the author, who does every exercise with me. I have read many spiritual and self-help books, but have always been frustrated that they never showed me how to be what the book was discribing. I know where ever you are in your growth, this book will assist you, as it does me. The book shows us the way and we go on the journey supported by the author.

A sure-fire workbook to enrich your life

Most of us know, or at least sense, that something is missing in our lives. The author gives us a way to find out for ourselves what's blocking our connection to that missing piece, and helps us, with 189 exercises, find what we have been longing for at the deepest, perhaps unseen, levels of our being. I found that the best way to approach this quiet masterpiece is to first read the Preface, Introduction, and the eleven Chapters -- each one is only a page or so long. This takes less than two hours. Then browse the exercise headings. Mark the ones that "speak" to you, and then take the time to do these. I found that doing one exercise a day, with about two or three during a week, has been the best way to allow the author to speak to me in a way I could take it in and assimilate it. Others may find a different pace works best. But I believe that with a little effort, everyone will find that the path described in this book will lead to a more conscious, bountiful life. It opened my eyes, for good.
