Seeds to Roots: MRE Garden History

In the late 1970s, a seed was planted by a teacher in the form of a Nature Trail and a large wooden pergola. Teachers used the space under this pergola as a gathering place for students to write and be in nature. The garden was started through a science and technology grant in 2003. Over the years, teachers, parents, students, and community volunteers nurtured the garden. It has served as a way for students to connect to nature in small and large groups.
