How to wage a romantic campaign of seduction

In her previous romance novel "Tempted," two pairs of guests arrived at a winter-time show cabin in the Colorado Rockies at the same time. That novel focused on Brooke Jamison indulging in her new sexual freedom with her ex-brother-in-law Marc. However, there were also some initial sparks between her sister Jessica Newman and Marc's friend Ryan Matthews. In "Seduced," Ryan decides to do something about the initial attraction and to seduce Jessica into his bed. The biggest difference between the two romances is that this time around it is the male of the species who is being aggressive and the female who is raising the objection that this relationship is not going to work out. That is the more serious concern; the other is that Ryan is a divorce lawyer and Jessica hates divorce lawyers (jokes abound big time). However, the real problem is that Jessica is intrigued, to say the least, by Ryan's plans for her sexual seduction. The key phrase is certainly "forbidden pleasures," and the big question is whether Janelle Denison and her male lead can meet the challenge of providing both Jessica and the readers with the desired heights of romantic imagination. Things like "Better Than Sex Cake" would certainly be along those lines.I liked "Seduced" better than "Tempted," not just because it is a "chase" romance, where the guy chases after the gal, but because of the creativity of Ryan's pursuit. If you have a male friend who is clueless when it comes to ways to sweep the woman of their dreams off her feet, then slip them this novel so they can pick up some pointers. I sort of wish that Ryan and Brooke had paired up, but that is mostly because the character of Jessica is forced to put off her submission as long as possible. She cannot really believe that he is offering anything more than sex and does not notice that she is seriously distracting him from his career goals. Consequently the readers get to the point where they think Jessica should be with Ryan long before the character does. However, it is clear that Denison likes to prolong the sexual tension before having her characters consumed by their passions. You can enjoy "Seduced" without having read "Tempted," and you might even be able to enjoy reading them in the reverse order. Comparing and contrasting the two sisters is rather interesting, but it is the thoughtful and creative campaign of seduction wagged by Ryan Matthews that is the chief attraction in this romantic mini-series.

I Just Love A Good Chase!

Janelle Denison has done it again! Now there is Seduced, a Harlequin Blaze, and people, that is exactly how you feel reading certain scenes in this book; ablaze! Ryan Matthews has been chasing afer Jessica Newman for a long time and you will never believe the tactics he goes through to get this woman; Better Than Sex cake, a Chocolate Mocha Rapture cake, her as a willing test subject in a romantic bathroom gift for friends, and a wild passionate night.... no wonder she fell in love. I promise you will love this novel as much as I did.

A fun, quick read.

This book will give you a couple of hours of very pleasant reading. It's a nice sexy story about nice people. The heroine wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box, but that's not exactly unusual for this genre. This makes a great airplane read.

He likes single-mindedly pursuing his career goals without the distraction of a serious relationship. At least his cat doesn't object to his sometimes grueling schedule and late nights. Nevertheless, he enjoys the time he spends with Jessica because he finds her so arousing. Delightfully fast paced, SEDUCED will heat the coldest winter night. Reminiscent of the movie NINE AND A HALF WEEKS, with its marked sensuality and passion, SEDUCED contains alluring characters and passionate love scenes that will delight romance readers. A first class seductive read, SEDUCED is Very highly recommended.

This romance is good and steamy

Last year attorney Ryan Matthews and two friends went skiing in the Colorado Rockies on an all guys trip. Instead, they shared the cabin with three women. His two buddies and two of the women hit it off and now have lasting relationships. Ryan believes he and the third female Jessica Newman should too, but though he feels she desires him, she refuses to allow a deeper relationship beyond their friendship to form. Jessica feels that Ryan, whose goals and single lifestyle come first, will only hurt her.Jessica uses lawyer jokes to keep her distance from Ryan. However, he raises the sensual heat in the hope to begin kissing, caressing, and do even more with her. However, even Ryan was not prepared for where their relationship begins to go as he and his target fall in love, but she knows he does not want a family, let alone a wife.The lovely lead couple will SEDUCE readers whose romance blazes across the story line. The tale is often humorous at the cost of lawyers as Jessica amusingly ridicules the profession and sensual as well. This duo heats the pages with their desire for one another. Fans of smoking contemporary romance will be TEMPTED to want cake and other Jennifer Dennison novels after reading this romantic romp.Harriet Klausner
