An Heirloom ....

I stumbled on this book in a dusty used-book store downtown and have treasured it since. The title is slightly misleading. Rather than a how-to book, it's a beautiful celebration of the author's marriage. In this ambling, true-life love story, she grows into her husband's passion for fishing. And from it, she learns important lessons on the policy and practice required for a fulfilling fishing life and a strong and truly happy marriage. This humorous, thoughtful and excellently written book should be distributed to all couples who dare to want and reach for more...

Simple, Honest, Entertaining....

That about says it all! I loved this book. It's one of the many I read in the year that I was engaged, and I've given it to many of my friends as wedding gifts. Cohen's is a wise and witty woman, and her bits of advice are so simple and so true. The book reads like a set of short stories about Cohen's marriage and the lessons she learned from those stories.

It is fabulous. How come the publisher is out of stock?>

I'd buy it for every friend if I could. It's the best, most lyrical, funniest book on marriage ever written.

I read this book before I was even engaged - I knew what I was looking for after I read this book. This is a book I'm careful about who I loan it to, because it's so special to me.

A delightful, insightful read.

This short and sweet book was perfect for reading with my partner. We read one chapter per night, and were sad to see the book end. Each chapter focuses on a different "secret". Some of them are common sense (but we can all use a little reminder sometimes), and all of them are written with humor and honesty. Ms. Cohen gives us a glimpse at many of the obstacles in any relationship, and shows us that they can be overcome, with laughter, understanding and love. We loved this book and will be giving it to friends of ours who will be getting married soon.
