The erotic side of art

Cassandra Colt's novel, A Brush With Passion, is the steamy adventure of a talented and beautiful young woman, Nina, who seeks to make a career in the fusty world of art restoration. Disillusioned by the seedy side of art dealing in L.A., Nina has a chance meeting with Raffy, a wealthy (and handome)art connoisseur. Raffy convinces her to help him track down a stolen painting. The search takes the pair to Europe and involves Nina in a mind-boggling series of sexual adventures in which she uses her charms to systematically eliminate names from the list of possible suspects. From London, to Paris, Switzerland and the Mediterranean, the pace of this erotic quest never falters and keeps the reader turning the pages (and wondering where Nina gets her stamina from). Along the way, we learn much about art (surprisingly enough!), and more particularly about women artists, who have been largely overshadowed in a world dominated by men. The novel is very tongue-in-cheek and should be read that way. This is not a book for the fainthearted, or for those who blush easily. yet it is written in an elegantly polished style, with sensitivity and imagination. I can thoroughly recommend it it anyone with a pulse! Michelle.
