"The thing about grief is that it stays.
It comes with a roar and it doesn't bargain-it won't grant another day or spare even a second for a cleaner goodbye. It enters the room and it drags the righteous while they scream and thrash. Sometimes, you come willingly. You walk side by side and it whispers "don't look back" as it carries your worth in its hands. Your power in yours. Then it sends you home. It reminds you to keep the door closed even if it hurts. Even if hope comes knocking and love sends flowers. Even if he changes. Because grief knows what's temporary. Grief understands. Grief tells you to stay gone.
