"Seaweed Lovers listen up"

This review is very easy. "If you are a lover of Seaweed, THIS is your BOOK". See how easy that was.

Knowledgeable, and a great handbook!

I've heard of the value of seaweed since the 1960s. I remember the seaweed salesman in the movie "It's a Mad Mad Mad World". Portraying Milton Berle as edible seaweed salesman, J. Russell Finch seemed like poking fun at it, yet Milton played the earnestness of Russell's heart in bringing seaweed to the public. This book is one that the character Russell Finch would have surely admired. The up to date information regarding the health studies, and the benefits is surely a great reason to read this book. Adding to that is the value of the identification and nomenclature regarding seaweed, and it's very important to know there is the application using recipes! I did note that that fucoxanthin as an ingredient in some seaweed was presented quite well. However, the network marketing aspect of fucoxanthin in an extract form and presentation of the company that sells it that way (Original Limu) could be left out of the book. By presenting it that way, I seem to think there were some ulterior motives by the author involved in the writing of the book. Network marketing companies come and go, however the true value of a health product elicits competition. Then, the product, if of true health value, lands itself a place in top nutriceutical companies' product lines and lands in the best health food stores! All in all, the book furnished me with a reason to add the sea vegetables to my diet, and I have come along well in that direction. F. Ed Knutson

Eye Opening Information!!!

This book opened my eyes to so many aspects of our health! I am completely amazed also at how true it is.....I started drinking Original Limu suggested in the resource section and within 5 days had the pain in my "bum foot" completely go away! I was born with severe club foot, which was corrected at 19 days old by moving the bones and putting a cast on. However, at age 7, I needed more correction and a cord was moved from one side of my foot to the other. That allowed me to walk and run near normal. As I grew older, however, the bridge of my foot got stiff, and pain would shoot through me after sitting for a long time, especially first thing in the morning. That is all gone now. There are about 5 or 6 other benefits that I personally experience - as you can read so much about what seaweed does for us - and it has for me too. If you want to order Original Limu, go to [...] and order your first case. Thank you, Valerie Cooksley, for your research and time to share this extremely important information with the world. Sincerely, Briana

Excellent book !

Valerie Cooksley gives us the recipes, knowledge and unique benefits of adding seaweed to our diets. Great recipes and research for overall general healing and balance to our metabolism. I personally have benefited from the consumption of seaweed (liquid form) with everything from migraines to lower cholesterol. Thank you Valerie!

Best resource for everything seaweed

I was most pleased with this book. Most books about seaweed I have seen do not describe its uses, and this book fills that gap beautifully by describing medicinal, cosmetic and general uses of seaweed, as well as how to find, harvest and preserve different species. This book is a winner for anyone who wants to know what to DO with seaweed as opposed to what it is and how it evolved. Cooksley also lists the constituents and values of each type of seaweed in the book, and the pages are packed with yummy recipes and useful tidbits. A masterpiece!
