Poised on the brink of a sensational music career, violinist Kate Saarinan is still haunted by secrets of her youth. She agrees to spend a week teaching at a country school far from the glamour of her... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This was my second Maxwell novel, and I think they just keep getting better and better. He has such a way with words. I had to force myself to put it down, and I normally do not even like romance novels. But his characters are so real, and their interactions so captivating that I want to read every last one of his novels.
A swan's beauty 'swims' through this book.

I knew that immediately after finishing Evan Maxwell's first book, that I would wish to read more by him. His style of writing reminds me so much of another favorite male author of mine, Nicholas Sparks. I enjoy reading a variety of genres, but to read a tender, romantic book written by a man, is really a special treat. The only negative comment I would make about this book is that I wish the author would have developed the character of Bran Corry a little more thoroughly. I found myself asking questions about his earlier life. However, that did not keep from thoroughly enjoying this beautiful book. Please keep writing Mr. Maxwell.
Accurately portrays a violinist...

Evan Maxwell has done his research on this one! As a violinist, I was pleased to read his detailed accuracy about the violin and the musician... It's nice when an author gets it right... In a short but charming story, the author gives a very good interpretation of what it is to perform and to play the violin... The other thing I really liked about this authors style is that since he's coming from the male point of view he developed the character of the hero in a very "real" way... sometimes with female romance authors you feel like they're writing the male part from a "female voice" and the hero is obviously a character that a woman made up... not like a "real man" would think or act... This book is a nice, quick read and I would recommend it especially for the well-done portrayal of a classical musician...
Vivid and entertaining

Thank you for another terrific book! I could feel all the drama and emotion as it unfolded. The characters were very real. I laughed with them and cried with them. I felt drawn into Kate's emotions as she became closer to Bran and his way of life. I was satisfied with the ending and can't wait to read the next Evan Maxwell book!
