Searchers: The Divine Web is the second children's fantasy and educational fiction adventure in the Searchers series by the enigmatic author Lively Thorne.
Following the events of Searchers: The Phantom Bookshelf, young Tyber Hastings continues his search for his missing friend Sophie, only to discover that the strange world surrounding him is far larger-and more dangerous-than he imagined. As the mysterious Web begins connecting people, books, memories, and worlds, Tyber must learn that finding someone may require more than simply knowing where to look.
Along the way, Tyber encounters literary giants, warriors, philosophers, and historical figures including Ernest Hemingway, George Bernard Shaw, W. B. Yeats, Lady Gregory, Napoleon Bonaparte, Sun Tzu, Miyamoto Musashi, and others, while clues involving C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, the Inklings, and the Eagle and Child lead him toward mysteries much closer to home.
Meanwhile, Sophie discovers that she may not be as helpless as her captor believes, Musashi faces an enemy that refuses to fight honorably, and Tyber begins uncovering secrets about his own family that someone has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep hidden.
Some things are stolen because they are valuable.
Others become valuable because someone loved them.
The journey that began with a thousand-mile step now leads into The Divine Web.
