Brilliant Introduction to the Study of Love

In this brief little book Thomas Jay Oord provides a brilliant introduction to the study of love. The book ranges over topics as diverse as world religions on love, the ethics of altruism and warfare, and biological factors that affect how we think and act with regard to "the other." Oord draws upon philosophy, theology, biology, neuro-physiology, and psychology and weaves these disciplines together into one seamless fabric. The book is clearly written without being simplistic and thus provides an excellent starting point for anyone interested in altruism, other-regarding behavior, and the nature of love.
