This study argues against the phonocentric dominance of Poetry theory and opposes with the thesis of the intrinsic meaning of lyrical writing. The author develops a spoken language-neutral concept of written poetry and examines the writing-poetics of the German-language poet Thomas Kling. Supported by the reconstruction of exemplary text geneses, she shows how a genuine concept of writing can be made fruitful for lyric analysis.
