Wonderful book

This book is beautifully done- the illustrations of saints and martyrs are rich in detail and color while the text provides a very good background of information for kids and adults. My children (6 and 4) love paging through this book, studying the pictures and reading interesting details about each saint. It is an integral part of our homeschool library. Incidentally, we gave a copy as a baptismal gift and were thrilled that our friends' older kids (3-9yrs)actually asked "Where is the Saints book?" and then were huddled around it.

Introductory Book of Saints for Adults

The stories of the saints in this book are wonderful, sharing more of their personality and spirituality than their biography. So that in one page of reading/saint you feel like you have gotten to know them a little as people. But the paintings are from artists of the 1400's-1700's, with some paintings before and some after this time. I don't think, looking back on my interests as an older elementary school student, that I would be at all interested in this art work. It would appeal much more to adults. And for adults the artwork would be considered splendid! The sections in this book are: Holy Family, Followers of Jesus, Gospel Writers, Martyrs, Great Thinkers and Evangelists, Peace and Healing, Angels, Archangels.
