Happy reader

I was hooked from the first paragraph to the last sentence. Enjoyable reading for men and women. Has the feel of real people and their struggle through a difficult period of history. I understand now, after reading this book why so many World War II Veterans never talked about their war experiences. I also came away with a better view of the folks left behind at home. I can recommend the book to anyone.
