S6ven: Faith vs. Religion
What if knowing about God is not the same as actually walking with Him?
Many people know Scripture, attend church, pray, worship, and speak confidently about faith. Yet religious activity alone does not guarantee spiritual transformation. Pride can pray. Greed can give. Lust can hide behind purity. Envy can serve in ministry. Gluttony can disguise itself as blessing. Wrath can sound like righteous zeal. Sloth can call delayed obedience "waiting on God."
In S6VEN: Faith vs. Religion - When Knowing About God Is Not the Same as Walking With Him, Rev. Gar onvil, Nathan Charles II examines the tension between living faith and religious practice, arguing that the two are not enemies. Faith is the inward trust of the heart. Religion is the outward ordering of devotion. When religion is shaped by genuine faith, it becomes worship, discipline, mercy, obedience, and love. When separated from faith, it can become a hiding place for the flesh.
Through seven deeply biblical chapters, SEVEN confronts the s6ven deadly sins and the divine virtues that answer them:
Pride vs. Humility
Greed vs. Charity
Lust vs. Chastity
Envy vs. Gratitude
Gluttony vs. Temperance
Wrath vs. Patience
Sloth vs. Diligence
Each chapter exposes how sin can corrupt religious life, holds the reader before the mirror of Scripture, offers a faith-centered correction, explores the virtue Christ forms in His followers, and concludes with practical disciplines for spiritual formation.
This is not a rejection of the Church, doctrine, worship, tradition, or spiritual discipline. It is a call to recover them beneath the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Because belief can inform the mind.
Religion can order the life.
But only a living faith walks with Christ.
For readers ready to move beyond religious appearance and toward repentance, formation, obedience, and a deeper life with God, S6VEN is an invitation back to the altar.
