Book Overview

**The limited deluxe edition will have designed edges**

One hard fall in the rodeo ring.

One maddeningly gorgeous cowboy.

One chance at love she swore she'd never take.

Billie Wallace has spent her whole life trying to prove she's more than the Wallace Ranch's "wild" only daughter. All she wants is a shot at barrel racing--and a purpose beyond crunching numbers in her daddy's office. But when her very first run ends in disaster, Billie lands flat on her back with Ryder Rivers--her childhood crush, her brother's best friend, and the town's notorious heartbreaker--hovering over her.

In all the years she's known him, Ryder has never entertained Billie's shameless flirting. But after her fall, he's suddenly everywhere--showing up to help her when she's hurt, staring at her across the honky-tonk when she's trying to move on with a bronc rider, and encouraging her to explore her dream career.

Before either can really register what's happening, their partnership sparks into much more than just dust and arguments.

Late nights turn into stolen kisses. Stolen kisses turn into something that feels dangerously like forever. Ryder swears he's not the staying kind, but the way he looks at Billie like she's the only woman in the world makes everyone start to wonder if he's ready to stop running...

The Wrap Up to the Lucky River Ranch we all needed

Jessica Peterson never lets me down with these cowboys, and Ryder might be my favorite of all of the Rivers boys. Ryder Rivers is the baby of the family. With 4 older brothers (including his twin, who is 4 minutes older than him) Ryder never wanted to be a burden to anyone. When his parents died in an unexpected accident, he turned that into shutting half of himself down so he didn’t feel the grief, or put any additional pressure on his brothers. Now that all of his brothers have found their other halves and seem to be living the dream, Ryder wonders if maybe that’s in the cards for him. But he’s a bit of a love ‘em and leave ‘em type of guy, who would ever believe he’d make a change. Billie Wallace has known Ryder for years; he’s her older brother Colt’s best friend. She’s also had a crush on Ryder since he calmed her nerves after a particularly bad dream by playing Taylor Swift on his guitar while she hummed the tune in the horse barn. After his parents die though, Ryder shuts Billie out. When Billie takes a major spill in her first barrel racing event, Ryder is the first one to clear the arena and get to her side and administer CPR. From the ride to the hospital in an ambulance, things change between Billie and Ryder. Can Billie convince Ryder that being together wouldn’t be a massive betrayal of Colt’s trust? Can Ryder get out of his own way and start to break down some of the walls he constructed years ago? The last book of the Lucky River Ranch series does not disappoint. Ryder is exactly the little brother cowboy we were all hoping would round out this series. We’re also teased at the end with a bit of a preview of what’s to come with the Double U Ranch series coming later this year.
