Definitely my favorite of the series, also one of my favorite books overall

I have a lot of concepts I love working with myself, as someone who loves writing my own personal stories and world building all day, every day. I Read Rushed (the first book) first, as expected, and that one alone drew me into Brian's world and the characters. They're relatable, funny, and appropriate, above all. They're realistic with their encounters and it was one of the first times I didn't find myself putting the book down due to second hand embarrassment or screaming at the characters for doing something so obviously inhuman and unrealistic.
Then comes Rushed: The Unseen and when I tell you, I almost cried.
My favorite part of reading the Rushed series is that Brian doesn't give explicit descriptions of all of the characters--they have minor descriptors, but a lot is left to the reader to create their own version of what the characters look like, and I love that. I absolutely love it. It enables you to draw yourself or your own characters you've created into the story and see them or yourself in new environments that are mysterious and magical and absolutely crazy. I love books that don't force a visualization of a character you have no interest in seeing onto you, and Rushed does excellent in giving you some freedom as a reader while also still having some guidelines to describe his visions. It's beautiful.
On to the story, it is one of my absolute FAVORITE concepts in the world, The Unseen. I had thought up my own concepts and scenarios in the past but was never able to describe what I was visualizing into words, written or verbalized. When I read this and realized it was going in the direction my own thoughts were and brought those concepts into reality, it was such a happy experience. I don't want top give spoilers, because the concept itself and how it works can very well ruin the excitement and surprise or even mystery and terror of it, but I highly, highly recommend it. If you like abandoned buildings, things some people can't see but others can, this is absolutely the story for you.
