Running Wild

I recommend this book for ages 12 to 14 because it shows how one boy changes his whole live and how he goes about doing it. He overcomes his drug usage and drinking habits by choosing either "to spend the night in jail or join the football team". Pete does choose the football team which starts to change his whole live. " Good job Pete for joining the team and not using drugs or drinking ". This shows that you can do anything that you want to do. Pete in the end changes his whole live, and has success in football and goes on to college. This is a good book and I hope you get a chance to read it and find out the whole story.

There is a good side in everyone

Running Wild is a really good book. It is about a high school kid named Pete Holman. He and his friends, Jimbo and Bucky, get in a lot of trouble. They do anything from smoking in school to driving into cars on the road. One day only Pete gets caught but the others escape, and Pete didn't do anything. The officer makes a deal with the coach of the high school. He will let Pete go if he plays on the football team. Pete discovers his natural athletic ability and ends up staying on the football team. It keeps Pete away from trouble that he and his friends used to get in. The officer knew that football would keep him away from trouble because he himself used to be like Pete. Just when Pete starts getting all the glory for his talent. His old friends try to ruin it for him by trying to suspend him. I think everyone should read this book because the author did a good job describing exactly what was going on in the games. The book has a great story so it's worth reading.

I thought the book was very good for a sports book

It's about this kid named Pete who one night gets caught with his friends drinking and side swiping a car. He gets thrown in jail for a while untill the football coach makes him an offer that he could either spend the night in jail or he could play football, he thought about it for a while, then he finally said yes. Sowhen he showed upfor practice he realized that he didnt know anyone on the team, but he started to like football and he became friends with some of the team mates. The setting was at a school called Cartwright High. The characterization was pretty good, the main charecters were Pete Holman and the football coach Pete Holman was a real big bully, he would cutt classes for a smoke break down in the boiler room, and picking fights, the football coach is a good person cause he helped Pete Holman get out of trouble and become a better person. I think this book has lots of strenghs and Ihighly recommend that you should read this book cause it has a little bit of everything not just sports. I usually dont like football but it turned out to be one of the best books that i've ever read. So I highlyrecommend that you read it. I like this book cause you get hooked on the book and you can't put it down. If you like sports or football you will definately love this book, and I highly recommend it , and that you read it.

Whoever loves football will love this book.

This book has a great storyline and is a good depiction of real life peer pressure and sports.

A good book that was fast reading

I thought the book was very realistic. Sometimes it got a little easy to read. I liked how the book showed that everybody who acts bad or hangs out with a bad crowd doesn't always turn out bad. Most everything was good about it except it had the same story line as all of Dygard's other books so it was very predictable.
