Ruby and the Moonlight Map: An Adventure Explorers Story:: An Adventure Explorers Story
When moonlight touches an old map, a silver path appears, and three friends discover that the greatest adventures have been hiding in plain sight.
Ruby has always loved asking questions. One evening, an old map from Grandpa's wooden box begins to glow, revealing a winding path through places she already knows: the old oak tree, the stone bridge, the duck pond, the community garden, and the lighthouse on the bay. With her friends Ben and Ava, she sets off on her very first Moonlight Map adventure. What they find is not buried treasure. It is something better.
At every stop, the map asks them to look closer. A squirrel carrying an acorn. Tiny fish darting under the bridge. A bird's nest that was not there last week. A lighthouse that never moves yet helps others find their way. Slowly, Ruby learns Grandpa's quiet lesson: the best explorers do not just follow maps. They also follow curiosity.
Ruby and the Moonlight Map is a warm, beautifully illustrated children's adventure about friendship, wonder, and the magic of paying attention. It invites young readers to see a walk through the neighborhood, a visit to the park, a trip to the library, or time in the garden as a real adventure. Perfect for bedtime read-alouds, classroom story time, and families who love nature, exploration, and stories that celebrate questions as much as answers.
Back matter keeps the exploring going, with a note to parents and educators, discussion questions, an explorer journal, a junior explorer challenge, and a make-your-own adventure map.
Every great adventure begins the same way: with a question, a curious heart, and the courage to look a little closer.
