Following in the footsteps of the very successful Rowan Living Book 1, Creative Living features even more dazzling projects made from Kaffe Fassett patchwork fabrics. Inspired by England's beautiful... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I love to sew, but as a mother of three young children, I am short on time and my projects must be straightforward during this phase of life! After borrowing this book from my local library three times, I decided to purchase a used copy for a song because I so enjoy the ease of the projects and the gentle, thorough instruction. I found the projects in this book to be simple and charming. They range from basic toys, like a yo-yo clown and a kite (never seen that in any of my other sewing books); to children's pajamas; to home decor items like curtains and pillows. The projects are great for beginner to intermediate sewists, or anyone who would like easy ideas for adding charm and personal warmth to home and life. The projects are not involved or complicated, although some, like the petal-topped curtains, offer a unique take on an idea. There is a know-how section, which includes not only well-illustrated hand-stitching techniques, but general measuring information for making curtains. This book seems designed to promote the Kaffe Fassett fabric collection, an exuberantly colorful range of fabrics which, while not my personal cup of tea style-wise, adds a joyful tone to the photos.
