When my brother tells me that Nathan Booth is coming to Star Mountain Horse Rescue to do community service for throwing punches in a bar fight, I immediately see red. Nathan causes trouble and breaks hearts wherever he goes, and he's the last man I want around my barn. He's also got the face of an angel and the swagger that says he knows it.
He thinks I'm a hissing viper with a savior complex, so at least he hates me as much as I hate him.
But ever since my grandparents passed away two years ago, the rescue has been scraping by, and I can't turn down the deal Nathan offers me: I'll teach him everything I know about training rescued horses and he'll help me fundraise for the barn on social media. But as our lessons heat up, and I watch him work with our horses with gentleness and skill, I start to wonder if there's more to this playboy than meets the eye...
