Keith Brower, an Alberta author and story-teller, has a remarkable, special way of drawing readers into a story. After writing a series of factual historical, family and local books, Keith has ventured in a new and exciting direction. Taking a series of historical events and weaving two fictional figures into the reality of the actual story creates another level of reader interest in gaining knowledge about historical events.

In this book, Keith has created a historical novel that includes local history, meanwhile, keeping the reader extolled with the story of an imaginary young couple and the growth of their love. It becomes a novel that is impossible not to be caught up in, and leaves the reader with an unwillingness to put his book down. As a reader, I found it impossible not to be emotionally drawn into this story.

The book includes many of Keith's personal pencil drawings interestingly distributed throughout illustrating the events as they are happening.
