"Rome! by all means, Rome."

A princess (Audrey Hepburn) is pretty much a prisoner of her position; she is on a European goodwill tour. While in Rome, she has an opportunity to escape her overseers and join the local festivities. A freelance reporter (Gregory Peck) comes across a sleepy young girl and, doing a good turn, takes her in. Later, he realizes she is the missing princess. He realizes he has an opportunity for an exclusive interview. Therefore, he pretends to be a businessperson and befriends her. Together, they see the real Roam accompanied by his incognito photographer pal (Eddie Albert). Does the reporter get his exclusive and earn a ticket back to the States? Alternatively, does the princess abdicate and set up house? Will the princess return to her entourage without being caught? One of my favorite scenes is where Gregory Peck places his hand in the statue's mouth. It had been done again in other movies, but never so well. The whole movie was filmed in Rome, as opposed to a U.S. studio. Everyone has fun kibitzing, and you will too.
