Ripples in Silence

Ripples in Silence offers a deeply moving and intellectually resonant exploration of the human condition, navigating the complex interplay between personal identity and universal truths. The voice is rich with evocative imagery and a profound philosophical depth, particularly as it explores themes of detachment in "Charade" and intergenerational bonds in "Much to Say...". The poet masterfully juxtaposes intimate domestic scenes with sweeping societal critiques and historical references, using powerful allusions to Bengali culture and literature to ground the work in a specific, rich tradition. The language is both raw and refined, capturing the exquisite agony of existence, the resilience of the human spirit, and the enduring power of learning and love amidst a world often fraught with indifference and corporate greed.

-Don Winter

Contrary to many contemporary poetry publications, as well as modern painting and music compositions, the latest poetry collection of Tamali Neogi has a very personal signature and offers a large variety of themes. Many poems refer to Indian mythology and invite Western readers not only to read more about Hinduism and Buddhism, but also to read the works of the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore to whom Tamali Neogi refers several times. But as the present poetry presumes, Tamali Neogi studied also Greek and Roman cultures as well as the Bible.
