Many poems refer to Indian mythology and invite Western readers not only to read more about Hinduism and Buddhism, but also to read the works of the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore to whom Tamali Neogi refers several times. But as the present poetry presumes, Tamali Neogi studied also Greek and Roman cultures as well as the Bible.
