P.I. Curt D'Accio is having a bad day.

The police are taking over his case concerning a political candidate that's being falsely smeared because his leading suspect was just murdered. The records for a two-year-old murder conviction he's been hired to re-examine arrive incomplete due to an equipment glitch. A close friend is having a meltdown after a personally traumatic event.
