Mack Bolan venturing back to 'Nam, a return to another time and place, with memories rushing back. Who you once were and now who you are. But this time that previous war is over and done, and this new war and the mission has to do with P.O.W.s, especially one in particular, a Colonel McFee. Action takes place on the Song Hong or Red River Delta, up river from Hanoi. An ancient ediface has been renovated into a modern day prison by the Communists for torture and mayhem. The man Bolan wants to liberate has complete knowledge of the Hmong or Meo people in his memory and the Commies want that intel so they can annihilate all of these courageous people. He is tortured but won't break, and Bolan wants to 'break' him out of prison. Jack Grimaldi lands Bolan from a VTOL Harrier to begin the mission, from there Bolan links up with Hmong or Meo warriors who will aid him in his mission. One thing of import in this book, we learn much background info on Jack Grimaldi, a man who is a brother in spirit to Mack Bolan and in many books of this series Grimaldi and Bolan always work together. At book's end, Jack Grimaldi returns to Bolan's site and really saves the day as the bad guys begin to overwhelm and get the better of Bolan and the Meos. A good read with some factual information given as you read along. And wait until you read of Bolan's new romantic interest: Tran Le. What a gal to have watching your back! Semper Fi.
