Good Book for Low Readers at High School Level

This version is Durabound, with a high quality hardcover binding. The book consists of 8 popular classic short stories and tales that have been adapted for ease of use with reluctant readers. Long sentences and paragraphs have been split up and some old words have been replaced with modern language. A vocabulary preview page precedes each story with a list of approximately 20 challenge words and definitions. At the end of each story an "Insights" article explores different aspects of the author or story. Footnotes are also provided to explain unfamiliar references in the stories. At least one illustration accompanies each story. The stories included are: The Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor (Arabian Nights), The Bet (Anton Chekhov), The Nightengale (Hans Christian Anderson), God Sees The Truth, But Waits (Leo Tolstoy), A Piece of String (Guy de Maupassant), The Diary of a Madman (Nikolai Gogol), The Necklace (Guy de Maupassant), and The Bishop's Candlesticks (Victor Hugo)
