volume 2 continues to please

Lijewski's second volume of the series doesn't dissappoint. Her original style and captivating story continue to make Replay a must read for manga fans. Can't wait for volume 3!

sweet!

well, THAT took awhile (thank you, tokyopop lunkheads). still, the second volume of christy lijewski's RE:play was worth the looooong wait. if you've already read the critically praised first volume, it's probably no surprise to you that volume two is further evidence of miss lijewski's uncannily authentic looking manga. in this volume, some questions from the book are answered right away, but the answers (of course) lead to more questions. izsak's mysterious past grows scarier, while his romance with cree grows stronger. down the road, i fully expect his romance to grow a little scarier, but for now it's mostly sweet. in addition, the stalkers get more "screentime" and both rail (boo) and char (yay) are on hand as well. as i said in my review of RE:play volume one, christy is at the top of a very short list of american manga artists whose storytelling and artwork just flat-out FEELS like actual manga. some western artists are very good at picking up on superficial aspects of japanese comics, but christy understands the fundamentals of manga storytelling from the inside out. dark, stylish, playful, and sexy...RE:play volume two does not disappoint.
