The book depicts the identification of medicinal plants using remote detection and GIS techniques. The identification of medicinal plants was performed on the basis of medical content analysis of various medicinal trees. The non imaging hyperspectral data acquisition procedure using ASD Field Spec4 Spectroradiometer was covered. The hyperspectral sensors cover a very wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum, including visible, near infrared (NIR) and short-wave infrared (SWIR) are explained. The hyperspectral data acquisition, data processing steps and techniques were explained. Certain statistical methods were used in the quantitative analysis. This book will helpful to researcher for identification and quantitative analysis of medicinal species using Remote sensing and GIS techniques.
