A deeply valuable book for women

I have given this book, which was so helpful to me, as a gift to numerous women and each has been so grateful. It offers incredible insight into the socialization of women and its impact in our own locus of control. It is not the conquering hero model of getting your way with the world but of getting to be fully yourself in a world that would have you be homogenized. Owning your own thoughts, boundaries and self-worth are critical to all women. Self-care is highly undervalued and even discouraged in female socialization. We are taught that our value is derived from serving others. That is only part of the picture for a whole person. This is a deeply valuable book intended to inform and transform rather than entertain. Highly readable.
