Regarding Revenants And Other Evening Matters
One lonely gardener, one owl-obsessed naturalist, and a magical estate that refuses to mind its own business.
Hidden among the rolling countryside of Somerset, Willowhart Hall is no ordinary estate. Its gardens grow a little too well, its residents are delightfully unusual, and it possesses an uncanny habit of collecting wayward souls.
Mr. Ambrose Fernleigh, Willowhart's gentle revenant gardener, has spent years tending the estate's enchanted grounds and quietly building a life among its humans, monsters, and magical misfits. Yet despite everything the Hall has given him, Ambrose cannot help feeling that something is missing.
Living quietly in Bath, Miss Vespera Ravenscroft fills her nights studying owls from the rooftops and her days avoiding the judgment of polite society. As a revenant who has spent years hiding in plain sight, acceptance has always felt just beyond her reach.
When an unexpected correspondence begins between Ambrose and Vespera, neither imagines that a simple exchange of letters might change their lives. Yet between a flock of stubborn owls determined to nest wherever they please, well-intentioned busybodies, and a household that takes welcoming newcomers very seriously, Willowhart Hall may have plans of its very own.
Filled with magical gardens, willful wildlife, and unforgettable residents, Regarding Revenants and Other Evening Matters is a cozy Regency fantasy about the people who find us when we need them most.
