As a former United States Marine and current executive with a major financial services firm, I have witnessed countless leaders throughout my career, some good and some not so good. DiSibio gives a wonderfully written visual account of different types of leaders one can encounter. I have read dozens of books on leadership and management but none like DiSibio's account; DiSibio takes the written word to a different level in that he uses visual examples of some of the most watched and loved films of our time. A must read for anyone!
Finally, a book on leadership that doesn't read like a textbook!!

Reel Lessons in Leadership was an eye opener on the study of leadership. the author takes the mystique out of becoming a good leader. He takes us to the movie house to put new twists on some familar and some not so familar characters. His years of practical experience show through in his insightful depictions of the lessons we can all learn from these actors. The book has stimulated a lot of discussion around the water cooler as we debate the use of films and the people he uses to make important points about how we can improve on our own leadership skills.
Interesting way to study leaders

This book is a gem! The author takes a unique approach to studying the overwritten topic of leadership by using scenes and characters from popular movies. For each of the dozen movies, the author identifies leadership traits that the main character symbolizes. (In some cases, I'd seen the movies and could recall the scenes he described. In cases where the movie was unfamiliar, his descriptions were detailed enough to get the points.) The book is easy to read with some very good insights into what it takes to lead people--whether you're in a leadership position or not.
