Yuri, a teen of the 21st century, has been transported to ancient Anatolia as part of a scheme by the evil Nakia, Queen of the Hittites. Only the intervention of Nakia's stepson, Prince Kail, saved Yuri from the Queen's bloodthirsty intentions. As an unintended consequence, the people of the kingdoms of Anatolia have embraced Yuri as the incarnation of the great war-goddess Ishtar. Queen Nakia decides to prevent Yuri from ever returning to Japan by destroying one of the seven springs of Hattusa. Yuri races to stop her, but an omen compels her to ride to Kail, who is fighting the Egyptians in Ugarit. Her action tips the balance in favor of the outnumbered Hittites, and Kail is thrilled that she has chosen to stay in his age so they can be together. However, the two lovers little suspect that Nakia has set an insidious scheme in motion to prevent that--forever!
This 14th volume of the manga series finally cements the relationship between Kail and Yuri. Yuri has now decided to stay in the past and she and Kail finally make love. Yay, I cheer together with her maids and his advisors and generals. Now things will be great for Kail and Yuri, but wait Nakia is up to her schemes again and now she assembles 7 Princesses as candidates for Kail's empress. Plus, she recruits many more women for Kail's harem. Well the plot twists further and I eagerly await the next volume of this epic romantic historical. I love Yuri, she's not helpless like the typical japanese manga heroine(like Aine of Sensual Phrase), she like Noriko of From Far Away, are able to think for themselves and get to save their men from time to time as well as challenge them too.
