Book Overview
On terraformed Mars, the air is thin, the south is lawless, and the woman who saved Malik's life may be the most dangerous thing on the planet.
Malik was a heat engineer with a wife, a son, and a future under the green domes of the north, until a syndicate boss framed him for murder and exiled him to the frozen south. Two years later he crawls through a tunnel with a pistol to take his revenge.
It works. Then everything else goes wrong.
Hunted by the dead woman's crew, he takes a courier job that ends in a firefight on a desert highway, and wakes up in the hands of Mabel: a century-old android, once a courtesan, now something far cleverer than the people who built her. She has a plan for him. She hasn't said what it is.
Ahead lie the polar ice, a crevasse field no rover can cross, a monastery where no one ever leaves, and a road home that runs halfway around Mars. Behind him, the mob is still counting.
Red Ordyssey is a hard-edged science fiction thriller about exile, machines that understand men better than men understand themselves, and the long way back to the people you left.
Contains sexual content, violence and strong language. For adult readers.
