If you remember the Dick and Jane books, this is Britain's version of it. I used it to help my oldest daughter to begin to read and write. There is a whole series and she was excited to complete each one. The book provides spaces for them to fill in missing letters to words they have learned in the book. Each book builds upon the last books vocabulary with a vocab list at the back of each. Well worth taking a look at.
