I wrote this book for my daughters, Ray-Ray and Leia, because I wanted them to grow up knowing they never have to change who they are to be loved or accepted. As a father, one of my greatest hopes is that they always have the confidence to embrace who God created them to be, even when the world tells them to fit in. This story is my way of reminding them-and every child who reads it-that kindness, courage, and being true to yourself are far more important than trying to be like everyone else. My hope is that whenever my girls read these pages, they'll remember how deeply they are loved and that they will always belong just as they are. If this book helps even one child see their own worth and encourages one family to have conversations about love, acceptance, and confidence, then it has fulfilled the purpose for which I wrote it.
