This is actually the first review I've ever done, but I love this book! I picked it up a few years back at the grocery store when I wanted to get an idea of how many calories I was consuming. Most of my life I've informally studied nutrition and exercise and have found what works best for me over the years. I've found this book to be an invaluable tool in eating right. It gives very concise nutritional information about a wide variety of foods in an easy to read table format and and is full of other useful information, including an overview of the main diet types, and even diet menus for different calorie ranges. It even gives a great formula for figuring out what you need to reduce your calories to if you want to get to a certain weight. I used it to drop 15 pounds in 6 weeks when a picture made me realized I'd put it on! Also, as a vegetarian I've used it to help increase my protien intake at times when I've become more active and felt myself start to lag. All this in a small size that fits easily in your pocket or purse!
Great Book for Diabetes Carb Counting
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
I highly recommend this book for anyone diagnosed with Diabetes. It helped me tremendously with counting carbs and fats! I have used this book over and over for the past 6 months and recently purchased the book for a coworker that was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It is a lifesaver! Especially when first diagnosed and trying to figure out what you can and cannot eat!
