The sad part Allie had been raped. She had her baby but decided to gave him to her sister, but when the baby turned out to be a girl, Allie wanted to change her mind but she couldn't hurt her sister Karen because Karen was desperate to have a child. When Jane was born Allie stuck to her bargain with Karen even though she was hurting each time she saw her own child, knowing Jane must never know Allie was her mom. The funny part Karen wanted to play match-maker with her sister & her friend Conner Callahan of the 8 Callahan brothers. Conner was the daring one in the family, He had just joined his brothers Adam & Patrick in business a multi-million dollar business. Conner was used to & loved kids, he didn't know why Allie didn't like a little cutie like Jane. Leaving the two stranded in a snow-bound remote cabin with little Jane, Conner & Allie fell in love. Conner found out about Jane & he was pleased that Allie wasn't the cold-hearted woman he thought she was.
